Description

This 3-Ingredient Lazy Lasagna is a quick and easy comfort food dish that layers store-bought ravioli, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese to create a delicious, hearty meal without the fuss of traditional lasagna. Perfect for busy weeknights, it combines convenience with classic Italian flavors.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 lb store-bought ravioli (spinach and ricotta recommended, but beef or other flavors can be used)
  • 750 mL jarred marinara sauce (about 3 cups)
  • 3 cups grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 450ºF (232ºC) to get it ready for baking the lasagna layers.
  2. Assemble the Lasagna: Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce evenly at the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle a handful of grated mozzarella cheese on top. Arrange a layer of ravioli side by side without large gaps over the cheese. Spoon a full cup of marinara sauce over the ravioli, then add another handful of mozzarella. Repeat layering with ravioli and sauce once more, then finish by topping with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  3. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. This allows the ravioli to cook through and the flavors to meld.
  4. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown, bubbly, and the internal temperature reaches 165ºF (74ºC).

Notes

  • Use fresh or refrigerated ravioli for best texture; frozen can be used but may require slightly longer baking time.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of ravioli like beef, cheese, or mushroom to customize flavors.
  • If you prefer a lower sodium version, choose a low-sodium marinara sauce.
  • Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes after baking for easier slicing and serving.
  • For a crispier top, broil uncovered for 2-3 minutes at the end, watching carefully to avoid burning.
