Description

Delicious and nutritious Banana Oatmeal Pancakes specially made for babies. These small, soft pancakes are naturally sweetened with ripe banana and packed with wholesome oats, making them perfect for little hands and growing tummies. Easy to prepare with blending and stovetop cooking, they can be served plain or with nutritious toppings like nut butter, yogurt, or fruit puree.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup old fashioned rolled oats (quick oats will also work)
  • ¼ cup milk of choice
  • 1 medium ripe banana (86 grams)
  • 1 large egg
  • Pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Blend: Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth to form the pancake batter.
  2. Cook: Pour about 1 tablespoon of batter per pancake onto a warm, greased skillet to keep them small. Cook for about 2 minutes until little bubbles form and you can easily slide a spatula under the pancake. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until cooked through.
  3. Serve: Serve the pancakes whole or break into pieces for tiny hands. These can be enjoyed plain or topped with nut butter, yogurt, or a fruit puree for dipping.
  4. Store: Cool pancakes completely on a wire rack before storing. Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to one month.

Notes

  • Use rolled oats for best texture but quick oats can substitute in a pinch.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly for smaller or larger pancakes.
  • Customize toppings based on baby’s preferences and dietary needs.
  • Ensure pancakes have cooled before serving to babies to avoid burns.
  • Freezing pancakes in single layers with parchment can prevent sticking.
