Description
This Best Homemade Lemonade Ever recipe delivers a perfectly refreshing and tangy drink, ideal for cooling down on hot days. Made with fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice-cold water, this classic homemade lemonade is easy to prepare and serves up to 10 cups.
Ingredients
Syrup
- 1 ¾ cups white sugar
- 1 cup water
Lemonade
- 9 medium lemons (or more as needed)
- 7 cups ice-cold water
- Ice as needed
Instructions
- Prepare Simple Syrup: Combine the white sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Stir continuously over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture comes to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Juice the Lemons: Roll the lemons firmly on the countertop to soften them, making them easier to juice. Cut each lemon in half crosswise and squeeze the juice into a measuring cup. Add the pulp but discard any seeds. Continue until you have about 1 ½ cups of fresh lemon juice with pulp.
- Mix Lemonade: In a large pitcher, pour 7 cups of ice-cold water. Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and pulp. Gradually add the cooled simple syrup to taste, mixing well. Add ice as desired to keep the lemonade chilled.
- Serve and Enjoy: Pour into glasses over ice and enjoy your refreshing homemade lemonade immediately.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup according to your taste preference.
- Rolling the lemons before juicing helps extract more juice.
- This lemonade is best served cold; prepare it ahead and refrigerate to chill thoroughly.
- For extra zest, garnish with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves.
