Description

Caramel Chaos Dirty Soda is a decadent and refreshing beverage that combines rich caramel, creamy heavy cream, and fizzy cola for a luxurious twist on a classic soda. This indulgent drink features a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and creamy flavors with a stunning marble effect, making it a delightful treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Caramel Mixture

  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt or flaky salt (plus more for topping)

Dairy

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Others

  • Ice (enough to fill two tall glasses)
  • 1 can (12 oz) cola (like Coke or Diet Coke)

Instructions

  1. Warm the caramel sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add 1/4 cup caramel sauce, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/8 tsp sea salt. Stir continuously until the mixture is warm, smooth, and pourable, which typically takes about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly to avoid melting the ice too quickly.
  2. Fill glasses with ice. Fill two tall clear glasses all the way to the top with crushed ice, ensuring they are well packed to hold the layers of flavors.
  3. Add caramel syrup to glass. Pour half of the warmed caramel mixture (approximately 2 tablespoons) slowly into each glass, allowing it to drip down the ice and coat the insides, creating a sweet caramel lining.
  4. Pour in the soda. Slowly pour 6 ounces of cola into each glass over the ice and caramel layer. Let the soda fizz and naturally settle, mixing slightly with the caramel.
  5. Add the cream. Gently pour 2 tablespoons of heavy cream into each glass. Allow it to swirl naturally within the soda, producing an attractive marble effect without stirring.
  6. Finish with caramel and salt. Drizzle a little extra caramel sauce over the top of each drink for added sweetness and visual appeal. Sprinkle a pinch of flaky salt on top to enhance the flavor contrast and add a subtle crunch.

Notes

  • Use crushed ice to ensure the caramel coats the inside of the glass well and keeps the drink cold.
  • If you prefer a less sweet drink, opt for Diet Coke or reduce the amount of caramel sauce.
  • For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and use a vegan caramel sauce.
  • Flaky sea salt brings out the caramel flavor better than table salt, but regular sea salt can also be used.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh fizz and cream swirl at their best.
