Description
Enjoy a homemade version of the popular Costco Chicken Bake, featuring tender cooked chicken, creamy ranch dressing, and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses all wrapped in soft, golden pizza dough. This recipe yields a deliciously cheesy and satisfying meal that's perfect for family dinners or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 1/2 lb pizza dough
- flour, for dusting
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 1 cup Caesar dressing or Ranch dressing
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Divide the Dough: Take the pizza dough and divide it into 6 equal portions to ensure each bake is evenly sized.
- Roll Out: Lightly flour your surface and roll each portion into a rectangular shape. Be careful to get an even thickness for uniform baking. Spread about 2 tablespoons of ranch or Caesar dressing on each rectangle, leaving approximately a 1-inch border around the edges to prevent overflow during baking.
- Add Chicken: Evenly distribute the cooked chicken pieces over the dressing-covered dough rectangles.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle a generous handful of shredded mozzarella cheese over the chicken, ensuring even coverage for the perfect cheesy bite.
- Roll It Up: Carefully roll each dough rectangle tightly into a log shape, starting from one of the longer edges. Place the rolled bakes seam side down on a baking sheet that has been lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
- Prepare for Baking: Lightly brush or apply a small amount of ranch dressing on the outside of each roll, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese to create a flavorful, golden crust when baked.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 415°F (210°C). Bake the chicken bakes on the prepared baking sheet for 17-20 minutes or until the dough is golden and cooked through, and the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve hot to enjoy the gooey melted cheese and savory filling at its best.
Notes
- You can substitute Caesar dressing for ranch dressing according to taste preferences.
- Make sure not to overfill the dough to avoid leaking during baking.
- Allow the bakes to rest a few minutes after baking for easier slicing and serving.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
- Feel free to add cooked bacon or sautéed mushrooms for additional flavors.
