Description

This Cranberry Brie Pull Apart Bread is a delightful appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy nights in. A crusty sourdough or French boule is sliced into cubes and stuffed with creamy brie, tangy cranberry sauce, and crunchy pecans, then brushed with butter and baked until golden and gooey. Topped with fresh thyme, this warm, savory-sweet bread is irresistible and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 round loaf sourdough or French boule

Cheese

  • 16 ounce wheel brie cheese

Fillings

  • ½ cup cranberry sauce
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Other

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Fresh thyme, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 350℉ to ensure it's at the perfect temperature for baking the bread evenly.
  2. Slice Bread. Cut the round loaf vertically and horizontally about 1-inch apart to create a grid of cubes. Cut deep but not all the way through, so the loaf stays intact while allowing room to tuck in fillings.
  3. Prepare Brie. Slice the wheel of brie into small chunks that can fit snugly between the bread cubes.
  4. Add Brie. Gently stuff chunks of brie into the cuts between the bread cubes to ensure even melting.
  5. Add Cranberry Sauce and Pecans. Tuck the cranberry sauce and chopped pecans in between the bread cubes, distributing them evenly for flavor balance.
  6. Brush with Butter. Generously brush the entire loaf with the melted butter to enhance browning and add richness.
  7. Bake. Place the prepared loaf on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy on the edges.
  8. Serve. Remove from oven and serve immediately, garnished with fresh thyme to add a fragrant herbal note.
  9. Enjoy. Dig in while warm for a delicious blend of creamy, sweet, nutty, and savory flavors.

Notes

  • For a homemade cranberry sauce, cook fresh cranberries with sugar and orange zest for a few minutes until thickened; see linked recipe below.
  • You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if preferred.
  • Use a sharp bread knife for cleaner cuts of the loaf.
  • This recipe pairs wonderfully with a glass of sparkling wine or a crisp white.
  • Make sure not to cut all the way through the loaf to keep the structure intact while pulling apart.
