Description
These Dubai Chocolate Truffles are a luxurious treat combining creamy pistachio filling with delicate kataifi pastry, coated in smooth chocolate and topped with crushed pistachios. The truffles offer a delightful blend of textures and nutty flavors perfect for special occasions or indulgent snacking.
Ingredients
Filling
- ¾ cup pistachio cream (pre-made)
- ½ cup white chocolate
- 1 cup kataifi (shredded)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ cup finely chopped pistachios
Chocolate Coating and Topping
- 1 cup milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate
- Crushed pistachios for garnish
Instructions
- Toast Kataifi: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the shredded kataifi and toast it, stirring frequently, until it becomes deeply golden and crisp. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
- Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl and melt it in 15–20 second intervals in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly to prevent melting other ingredients.
- Combine Filling Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the pistachio cream, melted white chocolate, cooled toasted kataifi, and finely chopped pistachios. Stir thoroughly until a thick, cohesive filling forms.
- Form Truffle Balls: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into smooth balls. If the mixture is too soft, refrigerate for a few minutes to firm it up. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to set.
- Melt Milk Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, melt the milk chocolate in 15–20 second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Coat Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted milk chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off, then place them back on the parchment-lined sheet. Let the chocolate coating begin to set, about 5 minutes.
- Drizzle Chocolate: Using the remaining melted chocolate, drizzle thin lines over each truffle with a spoon or piping bag. Reheat the chocolate if necessary to maintain its fluidity for drizzling.
- Add Toppings: Immediately sprinkle crushed pistachios over the truffles before the chocolate drizzle sets to ensure they stick well.
- Final Chilling: Chill the coated and topped truffles until fully set before serving, ensuring a firm chocolate shell and delicious texture.
Notes
- Use good quality pistachio cream and chocolate for the best flavor.
- Be patient when melting chocolate to avoid burning; stir frequently.
- To make rolling easier, refrigerate the filling mixture if too soft.
- These truffles keep well stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a twist, you can use dark chocolate for coating instead of milk chocolate.
