Description

A quick and flavorful grilled shrimp recipe featuring a zesty marinade and garlic lemon butter glaze, perfect for a light and delicious seafood meal ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Shrimp Marinade

  • 1 pound large shrimp (tails on and deveined)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Lemon Garlic Butter

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (½ stick)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 2 (2-inch) strips lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon (cut into wedges, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Toss the shrimp with marinade ingredients. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, Italian seasoning, Dijon mustard, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. Toss thoroughly to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated with the marinade flavors.
  2. Grill the shrimp. Preheat a grill to high heat. Place the marinated shrimp on the hot grill and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, grilling on both sides until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Remove from the grill and transfer the shrimp to a serving platter.
  3. Prepare lemon garlic butter. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and lemon zest strips, cooking and stirring until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in the finely chopped fresh parsley to finish the lemon garlic butter sauce.
  4. Brush shrimp and serve. Generously brush the warm lemon garlic butter over the grilled shrimp. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing over the top to add a bright, citrusy finish.

Notes

  • You can use pre-seasoned Italian seasoning or make your own blend for a fresher taste.
  • Make sure your grill is properly preheated to avoid shrimp sticking to the grates.
  • Serve with a side salad or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
  • For best results, marinate the shrimp for at least 10 minutes before grilling.
  • Use fresh lemon zest and parsley to maximize flavor in the butter sauce.
