Description

This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe features tender salmon filets coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, enhanced with a touch of spice from sriracha and the smoky depth of paprika. Prepared on the stovetop and finished under the broiler, this quick and flavorful dish is perfect for a nutritious weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)

Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Garnish

  • Minced parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season each filet evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if you choose to use it. Set aside to allow flavors to meld while preparing the sauce.
  2. Preheat the broiler: Adjust your oven rack to the middle position. Preheat the broiler to ensure the salmon cooks evenly without burning the sauce.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a large oven-safe skillet, warm the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook for about 30 seconds, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is warmed through and fragrant.
  4. Cook the salmon on the stovetop: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet if they have skin. Cook for 3 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the salmon to baste and infuse flavor.
  5. Broil the salmon: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once midway with the sauce from the pan. This step caramelizes the sauce and cooks the salmon to your preferred doneness.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and garnish with minced parsley if desired. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the heat level.
  • Use a broiler-safe skillet, preferably cast iron or stainless steel, for best results.
  • To avoid burning the sauce, keep the oven rack in the middle rather than the top position.
  • Salmon doneness can be checked by flaking with a fork; it should be opaque and flaky.
  • This recipe pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad.
