Description

This Honey Glazed Salmon with Lime recipe offers a perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors paired with a beautifully seared, flaky salmon filet. Quick to prepare and cooked in a cast iron skillet, this dish is ideal for a nutritious and elegant weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 Salmon Filets
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 4 Tbsp Honey (divided; about 1 Tbsp per filet)

Honey Butter Lime Sauce

  • 6 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Lime (juiced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet: Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, allowing it to warm up for cooking the salmon.
  2. Season the salmon: Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly over the 4 salmon filets to enhance flavor.
  3. Cook the salmon first side: Place the salmon filets skin-side down in the skillet, then drizzle approximately 1 tablespoon of honey on each filet. Cook for about 3 minutes on medium-high heat until a golden brown crust forms.
  4. Flip and finish cooking: Flip the salmon carefully and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the salmon is fully cooked and flakes easily with a fork. Then remove the salmon from the heat and set aside.
  5. Prepare the honey butter lime sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt 6 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Whisk constantly until the butter turns a golden brown color, about 3 minutes.
  6. Add garlic, honey, and lime: Stir in 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of honey, and the fresh juice of 1 lime. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  7. Drizzle the sauce over salmon: Pour the warm honey butter lime sauce over the cooked salmon filets immediately after removing from heat to enhance each bite.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Plate the salmon and serve immediately to enjoy the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors.

Notes

  • Using a cast iron skillet helps achieve a nice sear on the salmon.
  • Ensure the butter doesn’t burn when browning; whisk constantly and watch closely.
  • Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness in the sauce.
  • Can be served with steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
  • Adjust honey quantity according to your preferred level of sweetness.
