Description

A quick and flavorful Honey Lime Salmon recipe perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner. This dish features tender salmon fillets pan-seared to perfection and glazed with a tangy and sweet honey lime sauce, garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges for a burst of freshness.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 Salmon fillets (4-6 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil (divided use)
  • 1 Lime (for zest and juice)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Garnishes

  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Heat the Pan: Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a medium pan over high heat. This will ensure a nice sear and prevent the salmon from sticking.
  2. Season and Cook Salmon: Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper. Place them skin side up in the hot pan and cook for about 4 minutes on each side or until the salmon becomes opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Prepare Honey Lime Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 2 teaspoons of olive oil, honey, lime juice, lime zest, and salt and pepper to taste. This glaze will add a sweet and tangy flavor to the fish.
  4. Glaze the Salmon: Drizzle the honey lime glaze over the salmon in the pan. Cook for an additional 1 minute, spooning the glaze over the fillets frequently to coat them evenly and enhance flavor.
  5. Serve: Remove the salmon from the pan and serve immediately, garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges if desired for an extra pop of color and flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure the pan is hot before adding salmon to achieve a good sear.
  • Adjust honey and lime quantities to balance sweetness and tanginess according to your preference.
  • Skin can be removed before cooking if preferred, but cooking skin-side up helps keep the salmon moist.
  • Use fresh lime juice and zest for optimal flavor.
  • For a crispier texture, you can cook skin-side down first, then flip.
