Description

This Lazy Ravioli Lasagna is a quick and easy twist on traditional lasagna, using refrigerated cheese ravioli layered with seasoned ground beef, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese. Perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner with minimal prep and a deliciously cheesy baked finish.

Ingredients

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Sauce

  • 1 25 oz jar marinara sauce

Pasta and Cheese

  • 20 oz package refrigerated cheese ravioli (such as Rana 4 Cheese Ravioli)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the lasagna.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and Italian seasoning. Cook, breaking up the meat, until it is browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  3. Assemble Lasagna: In a 9x9-inch baking dish, start by spreading one-quarter of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom. Arrange half of the ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Evenly distribute half of the cooked ground beef over the ravioli. Sprinkle with ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Spoon another quarter of the sauce on top. Add the remaining ravioli in a single layer. Top with the remaining ground beef, then pour on the remaining marinara sauce. Finish by sprinkling the remaining 1½ cups of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Bake: Place the assembled lasagna in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the dish is bubbly and the cheese has melted and started to turn golden.
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the lasagna rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps the layers set and makes it easier to cut neat portions.

Notes

  • For a lower-fat version, use lean ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the beef mixture for extra nutrition.
  • If refrigerated ravioli aren’t available, frozen ravioli can be used—adjust baking time slightly as needed.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
