Description

This Lemon Garlic Herb Grilled Salmon recipe features tender, flavorful salmon fillets marinated in a zesty blend of fresh lemon juice, garlic, and aromatic herbs. Perfectly grilled to create a deliciously light and healthy meal, it's simple to prepare and ideal for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 (6 - 7 oz) skinless salmon fillets

Marinade

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for brushing grill
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 4 teaspoons finely minced fresh rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons finely minced fresh thyme
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic (about 2 cloves)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Place the skinless salmon fillets in an 11 by 7-inch dish, arranging them in a single layer for marinating.
  2. Make the Marinade: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together fresh lemon juice, olive oil, finely minced parsley, rosemary, thyme, garlic, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and black pepper until fully combined.
  3. Marinate the Salmon: Pour the marinade mixture over the salmon fillets, lifting them gently to allow the marinade to coat the underside. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 30 minutes, turning the salmon once halfway through to ensure even flavor absorption.
  4. Preheat the Grill: About 10 minutes before the salmon finishes marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat to get it ready for cooking.
  5. Prepare the Grill Grates: Before placing salmon on the grill, brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking. Spoon or gently spread some of the minced herbs from the marinade over the top of each salmon fillet for extra flavor.
  6. Grill the Salmon: Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade and place them on the hot grill. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve: Transfer the grilled salmon to plates and garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your vibrant, herb-infused salmon meal.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh herbs and fresh lemon juice for maximum flavor and brightness.
  • Skinless salmon fillets make grilling easier and avoid sticking but leaving skin on is also an option if preferred.
  • Adjust grilling time slightly based on thickness of salmon fillets and your grill’s heat intensity.
  • Leftover salmon can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • If you don’t have a grill, salmon can also be broiled or cooked in a grill pan on the stovetop using similar times.
