Description

This No Bake Chocolate Oreo Lasagna is a luscious layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust, creamy cream cheese and Cool Whip layer, rich chocolate pudding, and a topping of whipped Cool Whip and Oreo crumbs. Perfect for a crowd, it requires no baking and is chilled to set into a deliciously smooth and decadent treat.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 package regular Oreos (about 36 cookies)
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' (powdered) sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip (half of 16 oz), divided

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 1 package (5.9 oz) chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups cold milk

Topping

  • 8 oz Cool Whip (remaining half of 16 oz), divided
  • Reserved Oreo crumbs (about 1 cup) for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Crush Cookies: Crush the entire package of Oreos either using a food processor or by placing them in a large ziplock bag and smashing with a rolling pin. Save about 1 cup of the cookie crumbs for sprinkling on top of the finished dessert.
  2. Prepare Crust: Mix the remaining Oreo crumbs with melted butter in a small bowl until evenly combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form the crust layer.
  3. Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and half (8 oz) of the Cool Whip until smooth and well combined.
  4. Assemble Cream Cheese Layer: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the Oreo crust in the baking dish. Place the dish in the refrigerator while preparing the pudding layer.
  5. Prepare Chocolate Pudding: In a bowl, whisk together the chocolate instant pudding mix and cold milk for several minutes until it thickens.
  6. Assemble Pudding Layer: Spread the thickened chocolate pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer. Let it sit for about 10 minutes at room temperature to firm up.
  7. Add Cool Whip Topping: Spread the remaining 8 oz of Cool Whip over the pudding layer and evenly sprinkle the reserved Oreo crumbs on top.
  8. Chill Dessert: Refrigerate the assembled dessert until well chilled and set, at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  9. Optional Freezing Step: For cleaner and even slices, place the pan in the freezer for 30 minutes before cutting and serving.
  10. Serve and Enjoy: Slice into 12 servings and enjoy this creamy, chocolatey no-bake delight!

Notes

  • Softening the cream cheese makes mixing easier and results in a smoother cream cheese layer.
  • Cold milk helps pudding mix thicken properly in the chocolate pudding layer.
  • The freezing step before slicing is optional but recommended for clean pieces.
  • This dessert is best served chilled and kept refrigerated until served to maintain texture.
  • Use a sharp knife warmed in hot water and wiped dry for the cleanest cuts.
