Description

Sausage and Egg Roll Ups are a quick and delicious breakfast option featuring fluffy scrambled eggs, savory sausage links, and melted cheddar cheese all wrapped in flaky crescent dough. Perfect for a hearty morning meal or brunch, these roll ups bake to a golden brown and offer a satisfying blend of flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Roll Ups

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 large eggs, whisked
  • 1 (8 ounce) package crescent dough
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut in half
  • 8 cooked breakfast sausage links

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook Eggs: In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Pour in the whisked eggs, seasoning them with salt and pepper to taste. Cook gently, stirring occasionally, until the eggs are softly scrambled. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare Dough and Fillings: Unroll the crescent dough onto the prepared baking sheet. On the wide part of each triangular piece of dough, place one half slice of cheddar cheese. Evenly distribute the scrambled eggs on top of each cheese slice, then place one cooked breakfast sausage link on top of the eggs.
  4. Roll and Seal: Carefully roll up each crescent triangle, starting from the wide end with the fillings, rolling towards the narrow end. Place each roll-up seam side down on the baking sheet to secure them during baking.
  5. Bake: Bake the roll ups in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.

Notes

  • Ensure sausage links are fully cooked before assembling; precooked or leftover sausage works well.
  • You can substitute cheddar with other cheese varieties like mozzarella or pepper jack for different flavor profiles.
  • Customize by adding veggies like sautéed peppers or spinach inside the rolls.
  • For a less rich option, use cooking spray instead of butter to cook the eggs.
  • Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
